This is a 16 character by 2 line display with a cool blue background with white characters, with the standard HD44780 chipset. The backlight is a white LED.
It works great with any microcontroller (just google AVR LCD, PIC LCD) and it is very easy to interface with Arduino/Freeduino boards using the LiquidCrystal Library
This LCD has 8-bit parallel interface. It is possible to use all 8 bits plus 3 control signals or 4 bits plus the control signals.
